I met Gloria when she first opened Rock's . I drover by every day going home  from work. Used to be white folks bar, saw a name change decided to check it out. Met Gloria, we got  along good, became friends. A friendship  that lasted until she  passed. She had not  been  open  long and New Years was coming, she told me she was having  a party. I told her that  iwould bring  some bubbly.  Igot there  late, i had been  at another  party.  She was there with a bartender.  I asked"Where is everyone?"  Didn't you invite your  friends?" It's  a bar and all bars have parties! Yes, i said but this is a new bar. You're  to send out invitations  and put out  flyers. Anyway,  it was lateso she just closed the doors. We stayed there,  Me , Her and the bartender. Drank and danced all night! That was our beginning. 

Gloria you will be greatly missed. I will forever cherish the good times & laughs we shared at the beauty shop/bar. Thanks for always being so good to me & for all the advice you gave me over the years.  You were truly a classy lady & a good friend that I'm so grateful I had the pleasure of knowing. To the Gonzalez & Mendoza families my deepest condolences I will keep all of you  in my prayers.  Kathy and family

I will always have a fond memory of Aunt Gloria. She treated our family so well (Ike, Nina, Mary and I) and always so welcoming. Although I only have memories of her when we were young, they were great.
