Gladys Wagner McGowan

She was born October 4, 1924 in LaGrange, TX to the late Louis Wagner and Meta Laux.

Gladys married Edward M. McGowan on April 18, 1948 and moved to Bellaire, TX on May 26, 1950 where she remained until November 29, 2014. She worked for Kraft in 1950’s, JcPenneys in 1960’s, and Off shore Oil Company in 1980’s and was a full time mom. She served under the Bellaire Senior Advisory Committee for over 15 years. She was active in the Sr. Bellaire Civic Group, Crafts and Conversations Group, AARP, Garden Club and Card Group. She loved to do arts and crafts, sew, needlepoint, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling on family vacations to Colorado, camping, shopping in Meyerland Plaza and spending quality time at family gatherings with her sister Nita in Wharton, Texas.

Survived by Daughter, Darlene Glos and Husband Al of Richmond, Texas; Grandsons, Jeremiah McGowan and Reid McGowan of Denver Colorado.

Preceded in death by Husband, Edward M. McGowan, Son Randall M. McGowan and two beloved sisters, Vernita Richardson and Marjorie Scheppa; numerous cousins.
