On January 22, 2023, George McAdams of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, into the arms of his Heavenly Father. He was the beloved husband to Sandra McAdams for 36 happy years.
George was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 3, 1942 to Francis Joseph McAdams and Elizabeth Melinda McAdams.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Joseph McAdams and Elizabeth Melinda McAdams. George was the youngest of seven siblings. All of George’s seven siblings have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his beloved niece, Lori Guidry.
George is survived by his wife, Sandra, and his sister-in-law, Connie Guidry; two step daughters, Sandra Nichols and Theresa White along with many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
George attended Catholic schools in Woburn, Massachusetts through high school. Following his high school graduation, George moved to Houston, Texas. He was hired by a local carpet installing company as a “helper” George had a hidden talent for working with carpets and flooring. After several years of learning his new trade, he decided to start his own company, GM Commercial Carpet Services. George was a subcontractor for most of his career. Later in his working career, he became a full-time employee of Shaw Industries until his retirement. His career with Shaw was in the commercial field. George was always happily working in churches, hospitals and schools with lots to keep him and his crews busy. He retired in 2003.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed some travel and also his favorite sport, bass fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his favorite furry friend, Zak who dearly misses him.
George’s family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to his Klein United Methodist Church pastors who have been with him through his journey the last few years.
Another heartfelt thank you to his healthcare team and devoted care givers of Omega Life Hospice and Angelicus Home Health Care. Thank you for your kindness and words of comfort during his illness.
