Gary Lolita Cox

Sister Gary Lolita Cox was born Septmeber 13, 1937 to the late Abe and Catherine Cooper in Houston, Texas.  One sister, Delores Underwood preceded her in death. She attended public schools and graduated from Jack Yates Sr. High School Class of 1955. (The Fabulous Fifties).  She also attended Prairie View A&M College. Sister Cox was united in marriage to Mr. Gervace J. Cox(deceased) and they had one son, Kevin F. Cox(deceased) for forty plus years. She was employed at Neiman-Marus Galleria in the Cosmetic Department as a Sales Representative for 42 years until retirement. After movng to the Acres Home Community, she moved her church membership to Bella Vista from Gethsemane Baptist Church in the Pleasantville Community under the leadership of Rev. Hayward Wiggins(deceased). She was an active member in Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible study.  She will be missed. Remembering her presence will be one sister, Rhonda Banks (Karl Godine) one niece, Patricia Canady; 3 nephews, Derek Underwood, Patrick Underwood, Lawrence Underwood (Tiffany); 3 cousins, Jacqueline Jones, Denise Clayton (Eric), Nancy Hall (Carlton) of Dallas, TX; 1 uncle, Archie Wagoner of Jefferson, TX. and a host of caring friends near and far will remember her as well
