Gail was born in Houston, Texas to Carl and Mina Williams on December 20, 1935. She attended Lamar High School and graduated from the University of Houston in 1958. She was in the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.
She married the love of her life, Ronald Cradit, in April of 1959 and started her life as a devoted wife and mother. She took great delight and pride in her home and family. Raising children was more important to her than a career. Gail exemplified the Titus 2 woman described in the Bible: a woman “temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance”. A gifted writer and lover of poetry, she wrote beautiful letters to her children and grandchildren encouraging them in their lives. Similarly, her skills at the piano and her enjoyment of old musicals were both expressions of her immense love for music.
Gail is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Cradit, of Richmond and her best friend and sister, Kathy Williams Behrens (Carl). Her selfless love and encouragement will always be cherished by her children: Leslie Cradit Fries (Mark), Katie Cradit Brown (Todd), Cyndi Cradit Willborg (Steve), and Ronnie Cradit Jr. (Lisa); along with her grandchildren; Brittany, Jacob, Corey, Sarah, Joshua, Elizabeth, Kayla, Rachel, Miranda, Garrett, Meredith, and Gunnar and 13 great-grandchildren.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mina Williams and her brother, Gary Williams.
A Celebration of Gail’s life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020, at 11:00 am at River Pointe Church, 21000 Southwest Freeway Richmond, Texas 77469.
A Private Graveside Service will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
