He was born in Houston Texas on June 3, 1937 to John A. Aldrighette and Elvira Delgado Clara. His mother died when Fred was only 12 years old. His father continued his upbringing.
He attended Milby High School and then went on to enroll in United States Air Force in 1953. While stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, CA , he met and married Miriam Ruth Walton in 1955.
While living in California, they had a son: Michael D. Aldrighette born 10/26/1956, who sadly preceded Fred in death on 8/12/18. Fred was transferred to Bergstrom AFB and Lori Ann Aldrighette was born
05/03/1961 in Austin TX and now resides in Morgan Hill, CA.
Fred and Miriam divorced in 1962. Fred tried marriage again but it didn’t suit him so he opted for a single lifestyle.
After the Air Force, he applied to the IRS and was accepted. He worked as a Revenue Agent until his retirement in 1993 after almost 40 years of steadfast employment. Rarely, if ever, missing a day of work. For several years, he accepted a stint working at the IRS office in Anchorage Alaska, returning in 1988. A favorite pastime while in Alaska was playing a full round of golf after getting off work when the sun seasonally stays up till almost midnight.
Single since 1977, Fred became a man of many hobbies and interests including dancing, traveling, golfing, motorcycles and Corvettes while building many friendships along the way.
He was a member of the Houston Amateur Golf Association for several years where he held the position of Treasurer at one point. He was an avid golfer playing in many tournaments in and around Houston even a few rounds in Hawaii. Unlike the other guys, he walked the entire course and carried his clubs on his shoulder.
Travel took him numerous times to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and a highlight of his vacation trips was shipping his Harley to Europe and touring through the countryside with his buddies.
He was a member of the San Jacinto Corvette Club for 35 years, participating in a myriad of events and activities. He took pride in keeping his Corvettes in immaculate condition. In autocross, he was the King of DNF.
Upon retiring, he continued using the skills he learned with the IRS working as an EA (Enrolled Agent). His client list after retirement was comparable to none since he excelled at this newfound endeavor. Many people owe a special thanks for the hours he spent on their behalf, sometimes at no charge just because he wanted to ‘WIN’ for them. His expertise allowed him to stronghold for his clients, eventually making the offending agent give in.
Additionally, Fred was preceded in death not only by his mother, father and son but also his older brother Arthur Aldrighette in 2018.
Aside from loving his own children, he acquired the nickname “Papa Fred” from his bonus grandchildren Jacob Eakins, Jenna (Eakins) Dawson, Meg Demny and Jack Demny - all who loved him very much.
After retirement he resided in a quiet neighborhood in the Northwest area of Houston in a home with a pool, he continued playing golf and attending Corvette functions until his health declined and took him to our Lord at the age of 86. He will be missed by so many especially Lori.
