Frances Bernice Huber Scherer passed away on January 13, 2017. She was born in New Orleans, LA, the only daughter of Nicholas Huber and Bernice Alice Cordona Berthold, and the husband of Donald Roy Scherer who preceded her in death. Her brothers Alvin and Nicholas also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Donald Alvin Scherer and wife Patricia; daughter, Linda Frances Krzywicki and husband Gary; and grandchildren Katherine Marie and Robert Nicholas Scherer. Her grandson, Donald Ray Scherer, preceded her in death shortly after he graduated from college.
Frances was a loving wife and mother. She loved to sew and embroidery and was an excellent cook – especially desserts. She was very caring and helpful to family, friends and neighbors in their times of need. She was a longtime member of first Westbury United Methodist Church and then St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY, 10001.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westhiemer Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5pm-7:30pm. The Funeral Service will be at 10am on January 21, 2017.
