Frances Elizabeth Farrar Laguens Bolling was born on February 5, 1922 in Patterson, Louisiana to Dr. Joe Farrar [College President] and Maggie Jane Farrar [Homemaker]. She passed away peacefully on December 24, 2013 in the presence of her loving children. Frances was known as a kind and compassionate person. As a care provider in her early years to two sisters and a brother, and a caregiver later in life for her Mom and Dad, she always assumed the responsibility of taking care of others. This included active involvement in church and various community organizations over her lifetime. She inherited her passion for education and teaching from her father. Frances graduated with a degree in education from LSU and became an avid LSU Tiger football fan. While attending LSU she met her 1st husband, Delwin P. Laguens. They married and had three children, Delwin P. Laguens Jr., Douglas F. Laguens, and Deborah A. Laguens. (All of whom are also LSU Graduates.) Frances taught elementary school in New Orleans and later in Baton Rouge following a divorce. While visiting in Houston, Texas, she met Tom Bolling, fell in love, married, and added two more adult children, Bob Bolling and LaNoe Westheimer to their blended family. She relocated to Houston where they resided until moving to Baton Rouge to retire. Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her three children and their children [six grandkids], five great grandkids, a sister, Peggy Nix and her children; and two stepchildren and their children.
