Mrs. Jones was a lifelong Houstonian with a deeply rooted love for Texas, barbeque, margaritas, and Mexican food. Her spirit was wild and carefree, and she possessed a great passion for music and dancing. It was in fact this love of dance and work as a dance instructor that lead her to the love of her life, James William “Billy” Jones, who preceded her in death in 2009.
Mrs. Jones was blessed in her life with four children; Darrell Hunt (deceased), Jo Ann Fondon (surviving), Karen Tuttle (surviving), and Bill Jones (deceased). She is survived by her daughters and their families, which include 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
With a sharp tongue and quick wit, Mrs. Jones will be remembered for her love of silly jokes and absurdities.
One of her favorite quotes came from the song “A Tavern in the Town”:
Fare thee well, for I must leave thee
Do not let the parting grieve thee
And remember that the best of friends must part
must part
A public viewing will be held on Monday February 11, 2019 from 11AM-12PM with Funeral and Committal services immediately following.
