Evelyn McQueen was born on May 7, 1938 in
Jasper, Texas to Tony and Willie Faye
Armstrong.
Evelyn attended J.H Rowe High School in Jasper,
TX, graduating in 1957. She then attended Prairie
View A&M University, from where she
graduated. She retired from the North Forest ISD
after many years. She was a longtime member of
the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her three
brothers, her sister, and her husband.
Survivors: Daughter, Toni Armstrong, Simi
Valley, CA; Son, Dewey Wayne McQueen,
Houston, TX; Sister-in-Laws, Gwen Armstrong,
Carrolton TX, and Ruby Beatty, St. Augustine,
TX; Brother in Laws, T.W McQueen Houston,
TX, Thomas Burton, California; God-Daughter,
Shekera Griner; God-Son DeCarlo Griner; A
special cousin Patricia Hopkins; and many other
nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
