He was born on August 24, 1953, to Bill J. Wierzbicki and Gertrude B. Wierzbicki in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1972.
Eugene was a unique individual who was more embedded in his ways and if you knew him, you knew exactly what that meant. He was a person who enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting or just “chilling” in a wooded area. He also enjoyed playing cards, dominos and games with his family and friends.
He retired from Entex/Centerpoint after serving over thirty years. His ideal of retirement was, in his words, “doing what I please when I please!” and he meant every word.
Although he was not a “mushy” sentimental sort of person, if you are outdoors taking in nature, think of Eugene and reminisce about a moment you shared with him because, if you knew him, he was always ready to go hunting/fishing or just get together for a good card game with the guys.
Eugene is preceded in death by his father, Bill J. Wierzbicki; his mother, Gertrude B. Wierzbicki; and brother Leon. He is survived by brothers James, Raymond and wife Rosie; Willie, and sisters Lucy, and Susan; also left to cherish his memory, niece, Katherine and husband Cory Arnett.
The family will accept extended family and friends for visitation on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Brookside Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers to please donate to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
