He worked as an assistant manager for 7-11 in Florida and later was a trainer for employees before becoming a foreman for Trumix in Houston.
Mr. Emeterio is preceded in death by his parents Tomas Rivas and Josefina Ybarra.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Sylvia Rivas; siblings, Eva Laurel (Alice, TX), Rosa Ramirez (Riverview, FL), and Juan Rivas (Florida); children, Robert Rivas (Ft. Worth), Emeterio Rivas III (Raymondville); grandchildren, Serena D. Rivas-Fundeburke, Sierra D. Rivas, Robert E. Rivas Jr., Lorenzo S. Rivas, Emelio Gonzalez, Destini Stefani Rivas, Emeterio Junior Rivas IV and Victoria Susanna Rivas.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Rivas, Heath Irlbeck, Al Gonzalez, Kiley Warford, Christian Lujan, Lupe Segura, and Eddie Cross.
A visitation for Emeterio will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
