Elvira Gomez Ochoa

She was born on July 27, 1946 in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Ochoa worked for Southwestern Bell and later AT&T as a telephone operator for over twenty years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Legion of Mary, and the Guadalupanas until 2006, and in recent years became a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mrs. Ochoa is preceded in death by her parents, Margarita Valdez and Martin Gomez as well as her husband of 42 years, Paul Ochoa, Sr.

She is survived by her eldest son, Paul Ochoa, Jr. and his wife Lourdes; eldest daughter, Esther Ochoa Sveter and her husband Bradley; daughter, Margaret Ochoa; daughter, Patricia Ochoa-Hernandez and her husband Ben; son, Christopher Ochoa and his wife Monica; grandchildren, Nathaniel Sveter, Joseph Salinas, Mariana Ochoa, Jacob Sveter, Paul Luis Ochoa, Benjamin Hernandez, Christopher Ochoa II, Natalia Ochoa, and Abraham Ochoa; her sister, Oralia Reyes and her husband Fernando Richard; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Houston, Texas 77023.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday morning, November 19, 2021, at 11:00am at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Rd. Houston, Tx 77089, with Fr. Douglas Guthrie, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
