Elsie Diann Reinschmidt Phillips was born April 14, 1944 and died June 1, 2023. After a long battle with dementia, she accepted the outreached hand of Jesus and went to her heavenly home to join her husband, Bud. Diann was a friend to all and was always there when someone was in need. She enjoyed her time with friends and family. Her beauty, her wit, and her charm will be missed by all that knew her.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan ‘Bud’ Wilton Phillips Sr, her parents Helen Patton and Johnny M. Reinschmidt Sr, and sister Madeleine Butler.
She leaves behind brothers Johnny (Diane), Mike (Kathy), and Pat Reinschmidt; niece Tina Braun Peek; grandchildren J.W., Laken, Clay, Chance, and Curren Phillips; Megan Peek, Alison DeMao, Alissa Centner, and Cody Peek; great grandchildren Riley, Chance Wilton, and Gunner Phillips, Kayla Beard; Cayge and Caylen Foster, Caleb Peek; Brock and Emerson DeMao; Adelynne and Jordyn Centner; and many more friends and relatives in Texas, Florida, and Virginia.
A special thanks to Terri Bergen and Amy Touchstone that took care of Diann over the last year.
A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church (formerly Memorial Drive Lutheran Church), 12211 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77024. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any of the following: Special Olympics, Houston Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, or Salvation Army. Interment will precede the memorial service to be attended by family and loved ones.
