Elizabeth Sanford Davidson Jones passed away peacefully Friday, April 1, 2011, at 96 years of age. Betty was born February 3rd, 1915 in Kingsville, Texas the last of seven children of William H. Davidson Sr. and Louisiana Sanford Davidson. Her family moved to Houston where Betty graduated in 1932 from San Jacinto High School and attended The Rice Institute. She was working for Ethyl Brosius in real estate when she met our dad, L. Ludwell Jones, Jr. They married Christmas Day, 1936. They were lifelong members of The First Presbyterian Church of Houston.

She loved her Corgis, reading, gardening, and was a passionate baseball fan, following Houston teams from the time she rode the streetcar with her dad to Buff Stadium to attending Astros games at Minute Maid Park.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Ludwell in 1985 and daughter-in-law, Mary Quirk Jones, in 1993. She is survived by L. Ludwell Jones, III and wife Linda Parker of Fort Worth, Texas, Eldon Lewis Jones and wife, Pilar Jones of New York, and Elizabeth Sanford Jones Reel of Houston. Her grandchildren are Christopher D. Jones, L. Ludwell Jones, IV, Geoffrey K. Jones, Terrence B. Jones, Malinda L. Jones, Christian H. Parker, R. Justin Jones, Eric R.
