Elias (Alex) Delao Lopez, age 79, of Sugarland, Texas entered heaven's gates on Friday, October 1, 2021. Elias was born August 4, 1942. He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Maria Lopez, his wife of 56 years, Linda and his children, Elias, Mary Lydia, Steve, and Alex. He leaves behind the two granddaughters he raised, Norma Benavides and Herlinda Minor (Javier). He also leaves five grandchildren, Geneva, Alex Christopher, Patrick Andrew, Mary Alexis, and Luis Eli, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and his siblings, Elida, Maria Lydia, Delores, Jimmy, Martina, Richard, Irene, Elsa, and Ernie. He was blessed with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was a pioneer member of Victory Outreach Houston and was a blessing to everyone he met.
The world will miss his contagious smile and positivity. He was a lifelong Astros fan, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was a Bible Study Leader and most of all enjoyed serving the Lord. His family and friends will miss him dearly. While he is rejoicing in Heaven, his light will continue to shine through those he leaves behind.
A visitation for Elias will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a chapel service at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. Final visitation will occur Friday, October 15, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM with a chapel service from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A committal service will occur Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Santa Teresa Cemetery, 912 Buschong St, Houston, Texas 77039. The pallbearers taking Elias to his final resting place are Matthew Cisneros, Javier Minor, Patrick Andrew Lopez, Rogelio Benavides, Johnny Vega Jr., and Willie Nambo III.
