After a long and courageous battle with liver and kidney disease, Edward Enrique Enciso, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Eddie was born in Lawrence, Kansas, on June 21, 1979, to Gonzalo Enciso and Victoria Bach Enciso. He moved to Houston with his parents in 1981, and after a brief period in New Orleans during the 80s, returned to Houston with his mother. Following his parents' divorce, Eddie's father also moved back to Houston and married Sherry Baker Enciso.
Eddie graduated from Northbrook High School in Houston in 1997 and later earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002. It was at UT Austin that he met the love of his life, Linda Thuy Nguyen. While Linda pursued her optometry degree, Eddie joined Hewlett-Packard's printer research division in Corvallis, Oregon, where he was credited with three patents. Eddie eventually returned to Houston to earn an MBA from Rice University, which he completed in 2007.
That same year, Eddie and Linda married on October 13, 2007, in a beautiful ceremony blending their Vietnamese, Mexican, and Polish cultural backgrounds.
While Linda began her optometry career, Eddie worked as Financial Control Manager at Air Liquide before moving on to a role as Business Manager at Bank of America.
Eddie was diagnosed with kidney failure, which eventually led to liver disease, requiring dialysis and transplants. Throughout this difficult journey, Eddie and Linda faced each challenge together with unwavering love, strength, and resilience. Their bond and determination were an inspiration to all who knew them. Despite the toll of his illness, Eddie embraced life to the fullest, cherishing each moment with Linda and their beloved dogs Monty, Hugo, and Higgins.
Eddie had a deep love for life, finding joy in many things. His greatest happiness came from his life with Linda and their dogs, and the love they shared was apparent to everyone around them. Eddie was also extremely close to his brothers, Charlie and Jamie, with whom he shared a special bond. From childhood, he relished being a big brother, and over time, their relationship grew even stronger, with the three of them enjoying countless memories together.
Eddie never lost his youthful spirit. As a child, he was an avid fan of Star Wars, comic books and a lover of video games—a passion he continued to enjoy well into adulthood. Even while coping with illness, he found solace in Star Wars, Legos, and video games. He also loved snowboarding, working on cars (always seeking out the fastest), and maintaining family traditions. Eddie’s joy was contagious, and his presence made the world brighter for those around him.
Growing up, he often said he had the best of both worlds—being an only child at his mom’s house, and part of a larger family at his dad’s. He became a beloved member of his stepmother’s large extended family, and his aunt Bobbie even explored the possibility of being a kidney donor. Through his marriage to Linda, Eddie became part of another loving extended family, who brought him much joy and support.
Eddie leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends who love him dearly and will miss him profoundly.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Thuy Nguyen Enciso; his father, Gonzalo Enciso; his mother, Victoria Bach Enciso; his stepmother, Sherry Baker Enciso; and his brothers, Charlie Miguel Enciso and Jamie Lucas Enciso. Eddie will always be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his boundless love for his family, and his enduring strength in the face of adversity. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
