He received an early education at Klien High School, where he graduated and was apart of an Elite football team called the Bearchats. His love for sports lead him to also play softball and also coach a little league team.
Douglas met Bobbie Faye and united in Holy Matrimony. From their union they were blessed with three beautiful daughters.
Douglas owned his landscaping and catering businesses. He continued working his business and was employed with John H. Young Estates for many years until he departed this life.
Douglas was a faithful member of Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Albert Prince II.
He was dedicated to his family and has such as charitable spirit, that he always found ways to help and bless those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lottie Mae and L.C Collins, Bobbie Faye Collins, grand-daughter Giselle and great-grandchild Terrence.
He leaves to cherish his memories a living wife Rosemary, daughters: Lychunn, Monica, and Shametra. Step-children: Serita, Leaonard, Lamar and Leah. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Douglas will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Christian Hope Baptist Church, 5201 Laura Koppe Road, Houston, TX 77016. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
