Dorothy was born to William Jesse Grice and Evelyn Jepson Grice on March 16, 1933, in Miami, Florida. She married Malvin Gene Plemons in 1953. They moved from Houston to Pearland in 1968. Together they raised 4 children.
She is survived by: her sons, R.Q. Plemons and his wife Rosie, Roby Plemons and his wife Karen, Roy Plemons and his wife Carolyn, and her daughter, Jeanne Carroll and her husband Dan. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren with fond memories of a loving grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Gene Plemons, her parents, Jesse and Evelyn Grice, and her brothers, Alfred, Donald, and Jesse Grice.
Dorothy worked as a supervisor for the Exxon Credit Card Center. After retiring she volunteered at the Pearland Food Bank, S.E. Memorial Hospital, and Houston Hobby Airport. Her friends and her family were her most prized possessions. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dorothy loved to travel and play cards with her friends.
A visitation/ graveside service is scheduled for June 6, from 9 to 11 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Pastor Jimmy Easter will officiate the ceremony. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org. The family would also like to thank Pastor Jimmy Easter for officiating.
