Dorothy Hedges

Dorothy Hedges (98) was born Dorothy Lee McBride on June 28, 1923 in Jewett Texas. She lived in Houston most of her life, but moved to Conroe in 2020. She was predeceased by her parents John Deuber and Edna Maude McBride, and her older sister and brother, Syble Adele Bryant and John Thomas McBride. She is survived by two brothers, Allie W. McBride and Harold D. McBride and their families.

She was married for almost 65 years to Richard (Dick) Edward Hedges, the love of her life. Together they followed their passion for square dancing and travel for more than 50 years. She lost Dick in 2005, and her son Richard E. Hedges Jr. (Rick) in 2020.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda L. Callaway and Carolyn S. Barosh (husband Kenneth R. Barosh). She had three grandchildren of whom she was very proud: Carrie L. C. Hunt (husband Darrin E. Hunt), K. Kyle Barosh (wife Stefanie Davis), and Kristen C. B. Wiggins (husband Kerry Wiggins). She also had six great grandchildren: Caitlin Hunt (husband Dylan Allegrezza), Cameron Hunt, Alissa Ekl (Ryan Walkoviak), Hannah Barosh, Tyler Davis, and Kensey Wiggins. She had one great-great grandchild: Hudson Beau Walkoviak.

There will be a private burial at Brookside Memorial Park at 12 noon, March 7, 2022. Friends and extended family of Dorothy who want to honor her are asked to make donations to the charity of their choice.
