Donald faithfully served 4 years in the U.S. Navy where he was a crew member on the U.S.S Midway Aircraft Carrier. He worked for H.L. and P, Port Terminal Railroad and worked as a conductor and switchedman for over 35 years with Southern Pacific Railroad. He was member of the Lone Oak Hunting Club and the Masonic Lodge. Donald’s favorite hobbies were hunting and bass fishing.
Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Jean Jones; parents, Donald Lloyd Jones Sr. and Wilsie Crystelle Jones; and sister, Betty Darlene Bowman.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Tara Shauntel Greer (husband Adam Greer); son, Donald Lloyd Jones III (wife, Kelly Jones); grandchildren, April Nicole Jones, Donald Lloyd Jones IV (D.J.), Heather Dorsey, Micheal Dorsey, Laura Thurman, Emily Abigail Greer, and Reece Evelyn Greer; great grandchild Eliza Thurman due to arrive.
Serving as pallbearers are D.J. Jones, April Jones, Adam Greer, Micheal Dorsey, Jason Frazier, Steve Morris, and Grady Jarrell.
A visitation for Donald will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Brookside Funeral Home with the graveside service to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
