She was born on November 4th, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Joseph Green and Catherine Ann Schindler. Throughout the years, she called the Houston area home and lived in the Clear Lake/League City area for more than 30 years. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Randall (Randy) Williamson. She is survived by son Terry Williamson (Alicia), daughter Amanda Williamson, brother Rodney Ziesmer (Sandra), grandchildren Megan Spiciarich (Damian), Taylor Oliver (Ryan), Audrey Hardy, Maci Ashmun (Jared), Madisyn Concha, Joshua Engle, Benjamin Engle, and Julia Engle, great-grandchildren Claire Oliver and James Oliver, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
At the age of 25, Debbie’s life was forever changed when her husband suffered grievous injuries from an industrial accident in the late 1970’s. With the help of family, Debbie focused on the needs of her injured husband for several months. Once his condition improved to a point where she was able, she became a full time caregiver to him and homemaker for two young children with determination and perseverance. In the late 80s, she enrolled in college, eventually earning an Associate Degree from San Jacinto College. Shortly thereafter she began her fruitful career with Harris County as a programmer analyst in the JIMS organization. After 27 years with Harris County, Debbie relished in her well-deserved retirement with glee over her accomplishments.
Debbie enjoyed many things and possessed a curious mind. She traveled all over the country throughout the decades and Hawaii was a favorite destination, being one of the few destinations that she and Randy returned to on multiple occasions. Debbie also had an innate gift with photography, capturing and immortalizing many moments that she kept in a magnitude of photo albums through the passage of time. Debbie was frequently seen attending prayer groups, Bible studies, as well as ministries such as the prayer quilt ministry. Another favorite past time was tubing down the Guadalupe River with Randy and the family. Debbie also took up Zumba which she thoroughly enjoyed as she always maintained a healthy life style.
Debbie was resolute in her faith and dedicated many hours to Gateway Community Church in Clear Lake and at home. Her devotion was unwavering but what was her driving force in life was her family. It didn’t matter what was going on, rain or shine, she never missed an event that concerned her family. Debbie attended virtually every holiday gathering, birthday, graduation, wedding, and so much more without so much a second thought. She has been tenderly called “Memaw” by all her beloved “grand-brats” which she adored. Three more came into her life through marriage and she immediately accepted them as her own and doted on them. Debbie also had the privilege of spending time with her two great-grandchildren who she loved beyond measure.
