Wilkerson Jr and Leola Jane Duplantis Wilkerson.
David was a man of faith and could be described by anyone that knew or met him as kind, patient, honest, clever, quick witted, reliable, but most of all, strong. Everyone who met him took a liking to him, he never met a stranger. He always stayed busy, even in retirement he sold raw local honey in his community for the last several years. Dave’s Wilde Honey has loyal friends/customers come back year after year to see him, not just for the excellent honey, but for a visit and good conversation.
He had a love for his children and grandchildren that knew no bounds. He wasn’t a “Hobby” kind of guy but had a fascination for guns, current events and sports on TV. He also had a love for cars, owning and rebuilding anything from a Porsche, to a VW Beetle, to a classic dune buggy.
His early career began in different sales positions and TV repair. David and Norma ran a hotel renovation service that took them all across the US, renovating hotels across America.
This gave his family the opportunity to take mini vacations in memorable locations and enjoy their time together while on the road.
David was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and USAR, serving from 1960 through 1965.
Preceded in death by his brother, Richard Ray Wilkerson.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma Carole (Allen) Wilkerson, his daughter’s Ambré Hill and husband
