It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sgt. David Aguirre at his residence on January 11th, 2022 at the age of 45. He was born in Brownsville, Texas but grew up in Matamoros, Mexico.
He returned to Texas where he graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor in Science degree. He later moved to Miami where he attended and graduated from Florida International University.
David served in the US Marines for many years. He served our country in multiple tours including one of the most heartbreaking wars in Afghanistan. He was honorably discharged and was given many recognitions for his service to our country.
After his discharge from the Marines, he enjoyed volunteering his time at Miami-Dade Public Schools. He then proceeded to work at the University of Miami, where he found a purposeful meaning in providing security to the staff and found it rewarding. David had a beautiful soul. He was a thoughtful, respectful, and generous man. He was always willing to help and assist anyone he knew.
Miami has been his residence for many years where he lived with his wife, Karen Aguirre. He is survived by his parents David and Benita Aguirre; his two daughters, Aliyah Abbott and Dariana Aguirre; two siblings, Norma Garza and Esmeralda Martinez; and his wife Karen Aguirre.
A gathering for David will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:15 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
