Daniel G. Herrera

Daniel G. Herrera, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 63 years, Maria Cira Herrera. Daniel was a loving father to his eight children: Daniel (Cindy), David, Raul (Martha), Jesse (Natalie), Lewis, Dora (Henry), Maricela (Ernest), and Norma (Alex). His legacy lives on through his 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Daniel dedicated over 30 years of his life to Houston Belt & Terminal, later Union Pacific, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2000. He found joy in traveling and creating cherished memories with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored and spoiled endlessly. Daniel had a unique perspective on life, often observing the world through his binoculars and ensuring he was never without his trusty flashlight to light his path.

A man of humor and warmth, Daniel will be remembered for his jokes, tricks, and witty comments that brought laughter and joy to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the countless memories he created with his loved ones.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 771087. A prayer service will occur Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
