Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Jean Perry, sons Gene Perry and Donnie Andrew, Gene’s fiancé Jeannie Hughes, Donnie’s wife Linda and granddaughters Courtney Sommers, Lisa Sloan and Risa Woodward, and great granddaughters Sara, Samantha, Sydney, and Raegan . Preceded in death was son Wendal Dal (Dally) Perry
Dallas was born 12/18/1926 in Houston Texas to Joseph Columbus Perry and Sarah Faulk. Dallas was raised in Gueydan Louisiana and graduated from High school in May of 1944. Prior to entering the military, Dallas attended a year at the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Fraternity. He enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps in May of 1945 and served in France where he served as a cryptanalysis “code breaker” and obtained the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in October of 1949.
Dallas married Betty Jean Andrew in 1951. They settled in Houston where Dallas worked for 41 years with Bland-Willis Cadillac Co. as the service manager where he received many regional and national awards. After retiring in 1991 he became an avid golfer and RV traveler. Dallas and Betty traveled extensively in the US and Canada as a member of the Lone Star Sam RV club. Dallas and Betty were members of the Garden Oaks Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday May 24th at the Memorial Oaks funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday May 25th at the Garden Oaks Baptist Church. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
