Dale Higginbotham

Dale Howard Higginbotham of Spring, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born to Zack Brown Higginbotham and Mary Louise (Shepherd) Higginbotham in Houston, Texas, on September 17, 1956. Dale graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Houston in 1974 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Houston in 2005.

Dale and his two brothers were raised in the Houston Heights neighborhood and in the Methodist faith. As an adult, Dale lived and worked in many different places, including New York City and Los Angeles, California. He, however, always found his way home to the Houston area.

Dale had a long and varied professional career. He worked in IT, retail merchandising, set design and other roles in the film industry, and in higher education. From 2011 until his death, Dale was employed by the University of Houston Downtown/Northwest Campus as a Distance Education Coordinator/Advisor.

Dale was a devoted son to his mother and was there for her especially during the last years of her life.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Higginbotham. He is survived by his brother, Stanley Higginbotham (Sherry), and many nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of the giver’s choice is welcomed.
