Cynthia Gail Wright Pearce went home to our Lord on Wednesday, October 9th at the age of 77. She was born August 21, 1947 to parents Sammie and LaVerne Wright. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved nephew Patrick Gibbs and many others.
Cynthia graduated from Milby High School in 1965 and went to college at Sam Houston State University earning her Bachelor's Degree and Teaching Certificate. Years later she earned her Master's Degree in Education at University of Houston-Clear Lake. She is survived by her sister Linda Salazar (husband Oscar), brother David Wright (wife Mardie), nephew Scott Gibbs (wife Tori), niece Jennifer Breland (husband Daniel), nephew David Eugene Wright (wife Kim), 3 great nieces, one great nephew and many cousins and friends.
Cynthia taught American History at Channelview High School for 33 years and touched so many lives there with her involvement in prom, fundraising projects, taking students to Washington, D.C. during a blizzard to see our government in action. She, along with other teachers at CHS, started Project Hope, to help students that were falling behind. After retirement, she taught at Wharton County Junior College, again touching many lives!
She was also a devoted member of Grace United Church of Christ and a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (Quilt Committee).
Cynthia loved everything about Germany, and after much research, she and our aunt Christine Kaisler, traveled there to meet long lost relatives. She took numerous trips to Germany over the years and loved every one of them!
Cynthia will be remembered as a strong, independent, opinionated, and fiesty woman! She loved her family and friends!
