Craig Allen Fisher

Craig Allen Fisher, age 57, passed away due to an ongoing illness. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Craig managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his children, who he adored more than anything else in the world, and his immediate family.

Craig raised his family in Katy, Texas before moving to the Hockley area, both giving him the sense of country he always desired while still being close to the Katy area and his family. Craig loved a good joke and a well told story, often told around the dinner table. One of Craig’s greatest accomplishments was being a father and a Pepaw. He had always wanted children and considered himself lucky enough to have three. His children, Rhaylyn, Heather, and Jonathan, called their dad a superhero, Batman specifically, and even as adults, still saw him that way. He would always say, “I’m not saying I’m Batman but have you ever seen the two of us in the same room?”. He was always there for his children and grandchildren through their ups and downs, and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. He was so proud that his first born grandson, Brody, carries his middle name.

Craig was best known for his giant, boisterous laugh and his very stereotypical “Dad” humor. When he wasn’t winning at backgammon, working on a computer or tinkering with an electronic he greatly enjoyed dressing up and attending the Texas Renaissance Festival. He loved making sausage in the backyard with family, but more than he loved making his recipes, he truly enjoyed feeding those around him, all the while bragging about his pit-master and BBQ skills.

Craig worked in technology with Katy Independent School District and the IT work suited his tech savvy brain. His life was a living example of a quote he loved from his favorite movie, “Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, and be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes” ~ Edmond Dantes, Count of Monte-Cristo. He served as a rock for his family to lean on when times were hard, as well as, a lighthouse for his daughters, teaching them how to walk tall, have integrity, and be genuine in every aspect of their lives.

Craig is survived by his children Rhaylyn Fisher, Heather Fisher, and Jonathan Fisher. He has five grandchildren that he loved dearly, Brodrick “Brody”, Brayden, Bayleigh, Bellah, and Brielle. His parents Jarvis Denny and Carol Fisher along with siblings Carolyne Riggs, Ronald “Roni” Fisher, Carol Denise Fisher-Singh, and James “Randy” Fisher.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 - So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Craig is now at home with our Lord.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Craig Fisher at his home at 2pm on October 3rd.
