Clyde was born November 9, 1935 to Walter and Velma Kirk in Houston, and at the age of 2 the family moved to a small dairy farm in the Fairbanks area.
He graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1954 and later received a BBA degree from the University of Houston. Upon graduation, Clyde began his accounting career with Shell Oil Co. where he worked for 33 years while also serving in the Air National Guard for 6 of those years.
He met the lovely Deloris Brown at church and a romance soon blossomed after their first date at the Valentine Banquet. They married in 1960 and settled in the Spring Branch area where they raised their 2 daughters.
Clyde loved the outdoors, playing softball, bluegrass music, reading and mexican food. He could talk for hours about World War II history and had a deep love for his country and all who fought for her freedom.
He was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church for 40 years and enjoyed the many friendships formed in his Abundant Life Class. Repairing homes for the less fortunate alongside fellow classmates was his favorite service project.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Deloris Brown Kirk; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Guy Mullen; Daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Danny Fortune. He was "Grandad" to his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
