He served in the U.S. Army in 1942 as a cook. Clarence married Madolia Dorsey-Batiste in 1944. 75 plus years. They had 11 kids, and moved to Houston, TX in 1953. Clarence was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a great great grandfather. Five generations!
Clarence Batiste Sr. is survived by his daughters Lerittia Marie Batiste Broussard, Sara Ann Richardson, Kathleen Batiste, Deanette Batiste and Benita Batiste, sons Clarence Batiste Jr., and Melvin Charles Batiste Sr., his siblings Nercesse Batiste, Newman Batiste, Mickey Batiste, Jeneva Batiste-Wilson & Rosalee Batiste and 33 grand kids, 46 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren.
Clarence Batiste Sr. is proceeded in death his lovely wife Madolia Dorsey-Batiste, a set of twins, daughter Evolia Batiste, son Raymon Leo Batiste, brothers Nelson Batiste, Paul Batiste Sr., and Curtis Batiste; and sisters Josephine Batiste Jones and Margie Batiste Norman, and granddaughters Sylvia Ann House & Fonda Nicole Batiste.
