Clara B Couch

Clara B Couch, born November 4, 1927 to Thomas and Frances Jennings in Avery, Texas, passed away March 27, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas, from complications of a fall that occurred in August, 2012. Clara B was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter S. Couch, her parents, and sisters, Alma Blassingame and Elsie Shafer. She is survived by her sister, Jennie De Genaro and husband, Guy; nieces, Sherrie Calhoun and Marsha Mercer; nephew, Bob Blassingame and wife, Amy; great-nieces, Lisa Dory and husband, Matt, Jill Melco, and Emily Grace Blassingame; great-nephews, Lion Bratton, Michael Blassingame, and Daniel Blassingame and wife, Ksenia; great-great-nieces, Matali Dory and Chloe Melco, and other family and friends.

Clara B retired after more than 30 years of being an educator. She and her husband thoroughly enjoyed traveling all over in their boat. Clara B was known for her great love of dogs and for being an avid reader. She was also a wonderful cook.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
