Chester and I were classmates as Stanford University Sloan Fellowship students 1978-1979.  We formed a strong friendship and I loved his keen mind and outrageous humour.  After graduation, we both went to Texas, he to Shell Houston and me to a Command at AF Plant 4 in Fort Worth.  In 1983 we both suffered divorces from our wives and I retired from the Air Force and took a position with Trammell Crow in Houston.  We both moved to an apartment across from each other on Westheimer and I could hear Chess grieve nightly for a long time.  In a few months he met Charlotte and his life and laughter were renewed.  We visited over the years and our friendship never waned.  Chester loved his family, in fact, Chess loved people.  Later he told me the he and Char had joined Christ Episcopal Church.  This after being raised Baptists.  I asked him about it and he told me he loved the high ritual.  So Chester.  A man closely in touch with who he was.  I still miss Chess every day.  Like a brother gone too soon.  See you in Heaven, Chess.  Hopefully, soon.  I love you, man.  Bodie (aka Colonel H.L. Bodenhamer)

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Chester Jones.  I knew Mr. Jones through St. Luke's Episcopal Health System.  His leadership and kindness was second to none and it was an honor for me to know him.  Even though my position is not high on the organizational chart, he always treated me with respect and courtesy.  God bless you all during this time of loss.
