Cheryl Evonne Riddle, 59, of Lake Jackson, passed away on October 7, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas, to Larry Bryan Riddle and Dovie Ernestine Howell. Cheryl was a dedicated chemical engineer and was always the valedictorian, or top honors student in every endeavor.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents and 20 loving uncles and aunts who are rejoicing in Heaven with her today. They are Alton and Ruby Riddle, Clarence and Eva Riddle, Cecil and Thelma Randall, *Homer and Donnie Boatman, Dalton and Mary Elizabeth Hilton, Lewis David Howell, Jr. and Beth, Paul and Sarah Louise Martin, Lowery and Nan Howell, Howard and Evelyn Lyndell Johnston, and LTC Lawrence Carey Howell Sr. and LaVonna. (Special Note: Homer grew up as a sibling due to Dave and Martha Boatman adopting the four Riddle siblings including Cheryl's father, Larry Riddle.
Cheryl's warmth and affection extended to her family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Rachel Louise Yeates of Conroe, Texas; four nieces and nephews, Micah James Yeates, Hannah Faith Yeates, Sarah Elisabeth Yeates, and Joshua Andrew Yeates; brother-in-law James Kent Yeates, and her lifetime best friend, Shelly Wood. Her final caretaking team of Paula, Rosemary, and Veronica administered love and care for which the family is grateful.
Cheryl loved her many felines throughout the years and never had a favorite! They all had beautiful personalities and memorable names and could not have had a better human to love them on earth.
Cheryl was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, dedicated professional,and a woman with an adventurous spirit that all will miss. Her zest for life complemented her humor, wit, sweetness, and intelligence. She loved to travel and took many trips in her younger years often with her mother, including visits to Europe, New York, Colorado, cruises, and New Orleans for Mardi Gras.
A visitation for Cheryl will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 pm in the Pecan Venue of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, immediately followed by a committal service in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. A reception will follow the committal service in the Magnolia Venue of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. We invite you to join us in honoring Cheryl's life and legacy.
