“Lottie” was born on May 29, 1928 in Cotter, Arkansas, to Ellis and WF Mears. She and her 5 siblings were raised in the oilfield near Seminole, Oklahoma. She has been a resident of Houston since 1974, after living in West Texas, Wyoming, Ohio and Louisiana. Devoted wife to Carl, with whom she raised 6 children with love and patience. She enjoyed picnics in the mountains, camping trips to the lake and cross-country car trips in the 3-row station wagon with 5 kids… and often a dog. She loved to travel and to explore the local culture and cuisine. Charlotte was an avid reader and a lover of games. She was a fierce competitor, whether it was bowling on a league, playing bridge or just a friendly family night of dominos at the kitchen table. She played to win! She was a great listener and was always supportive of and encouraging to her children and grandchildren. Charlotte truly cherished her family above all.
She is predeceased by her youngest son Scott Morris, her eldest daughter Gwenda Rush Wyzard and her husband Carl Morris. She is survived by her sons J. Mike Rush, George R. (Bob) Morris (Nan Dole) and Gary Morris; her daughter Sheri Morris, MD (Lynn Begalla); her grandchildren and many great-grand-children.
The family will host friends at a celebratory gathering on December 10th, 2021 from 12:00 – 2:00 at Brookside Funeral Home, 3410 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Houston, TX 77068. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank all of Charlotte’s wonderful caregivers for their love and devotion through the years.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brooksidechampions.com for the Morris family.
