Charles Joseph Patrick Gilmore, 60, died at Houston Hospice on February 4, 2023. Patrick was born November 11, 1962, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS. Patrick was the youngest of seven children. He grew up in Beaumont, TX, graduating from Charlton Pollard High School in 1981. He attended Lamar University from 1981-1982.
Patrick received certification in Underwater Welding and Diver Medical Training at the Ocean Corporation in Houston, TX, in 1982. He worked for Offshore Diving and Salvaging of Port Arthur, TX, prior to returning to college in 1984. Pat received a Bachelor of Business Administration from North Texas State in 1987. Following graduation, he moved to San Diego, California, working in various businesses: store manager, car salesman, and mortgage loan officer before moving to Houston 25 years ago. Patrick was a travel agent for Vacations To Go in Houston, TX, for 15 years. Over the years, he won several sales awards (2007, 2018, 2019) and earned some of the highest customer service scores in the company nearly every single year. He was continually seeking to better himself and learn more about business and finance. He recently completed his real estate license and became an agent with eXp Realty.
Patrick enjoyed listening to and playing great music. He collected and played guitar and was learning to play the keyboard. He attended many concerts with his friends. His greatest loves were his large dogs, Bardo and Chloe, whom he raised since they were puppies. His last wish of having both dogs adopted finally happened with one placed in Mississippi and one in Texas. Neighbors in Mission Bend North said he was someone who cared for his community, helping others in hard times. Pat was a loving brother, uncle, and great-uncle who will be greatly missed by his family.
Patrick is preceded in death by his parents William Rhodes Gilmore and Helen Lawshe Gilmore of Jackson, MS; and his grandparents, William Joseph Gilmore and Sara Mae Hypathia Rhodes Gilmore of Jackson, MS, and Charles Abner Lawshe and Angie Massey Lawshe of Jackson, MS.
