Charles Fannin DeMoss, 89, entered eternal rest on May 25, 2022. He was born November 21, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Charles Fannin & Willie Pauline DeMoss, Sr. Charles graduated from Milby High School. He later met Sue Rogers and were married on March 6, 1951. Charles worked for the Hughes Tool Company until 1958 when he began a lifetime career in the Houston Fire Department. Serving 40 years and retiring in 1998 as Deputy Chief of all HFD. He enjoyed learning about the Texas and Civil War History. He was an outdoorsman, who loved to bird watch, work in his garden, going fishing and hunting.
Charles is survived by his loving wife: Sue DeMoss; sons: Randall Paul DeMoss, Layne Demoss & wife Jeanna Ann of Coldspring, TX; grandsons: Layne “Lucky” DeMoss & wife Megan, great grandson: Grady Charles DeMoss of Conroe, TX; grandson: Marshall DeMoss & wife Courtney of Conroe, TX; brother: Jimmy Herman DeMoss of Texarkana, TX; sister: Joyce May & husband Bill Oliver of Cypress, TX.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10am on Friday, June 3, 2022 with the funeral service beginning at 2pm. All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, TX 77039. Interment to follow immediately after the funeral service in Brookside Memorial Park.
