Charles Thomas Crumpler, age 92, of Spring, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2024. He was born on November 10, 1931 in McNeil, Arkansas. Charles graduated from Hope High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Diesel Engineering from the University of Houston.
Charles enlisted in the US Army from August 24, 1953 to June 8, 1955 serving with the 59th Field Artillery Battalion and obtained the rank of Corporal. He married Judith Marie Crumpler on April 21, 1977. Charles retired in 1994 from the City of Houston as an electrician. He was a member of Lincoln Wood Baptist Church and had a passion for woodworking and home restoration.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Ainsworth, father, Troy Crumpler and wife Gertie, his son, Tommy Crumpler, daughter, Karen Anne Crumpler, sister, Linda Faye Crumpler, and brother-in-law, Bill O'Neal.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Crumpler; children, Judi Lynn Thayer and her husband Jeff, Donna Crumpler, Dwayne Lane and his wife Kelly, Stephen Crumpler and his wife Amber; his sisters, Joyce O'Neal and Jo Sneed; granddaughters, Rachel Townes and husband Christian, Lauren Lane, and Adlee Crumpler; grandsons Brenden Lane, Hayden and Corbin Littleford; great-grandsons, Sean and Colin Kerrigan; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Townes.
Visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for family and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for friends at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
A reception will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, with a funeral service following from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Graveside service will occur Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
