Charles Daniel Beacham

Charles Daniel Beacham was born September 13, 1948 in Houston, Texas. His mother was Johnny Beacham and he was raised by his grand parents Ralph and Eva Brackens all whom proceeded him in death. Charles attended 8th Avenue Elementary, Harper Junior High and Jack Yates Senior High School. Shortly after finishing college in California, Charles found it difficult competing and establishing a career with the NBA in the states and he decided to go to France and pursue basketball. He played basketball in Europe in other countries from 1973 on to 1986. He also coached basketball and volleyball and other sports at the American School of Paris in Paris France for over 14 years. He also worked at the American School of Paris as a teacher. He established many friends that included colleagues, students and parents. Beacham enjoyed going to the night clubs and was known by people like the Princess Stephanie de Monaco. He had a great life in France; good money, good apartment, good food, good friends. Anyone who knew Charles Beacham will remember him forever because he lived in his own world, he had his own language and was one of the kindest and nicest persons you could ever meet. We will all miss him and we know he is trying to get his fried catfish,chicken and salmon croquet served in heaven. He leaves behind one daughter Aurelie Bourjault and a grandson Aaron of Lyon, France. To list all of his close friends would take about two years but below are some that he leaves behind: Mr. Lonnie Jackson childhood and lifelong friend, Mr. Leroy Chalk of Paris, France who was with him in Paris until his final days, Mrs. Kathleen Bradley-Redd of California, The Collyer family of Texas, Chantal of Paris, France, Shantel Perkins of Plano, Texas, Ephriam McDaniel his friend since 1973, Faye Hutchinson and all of the students, faculty and friends of the American School of Paris.
