Charlene Baker

Charlene Thelma Baker, age 86, passed peacefully after a painful battle with cancer at her home in Austin, Texas on July 19th 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Melody Stein and son in law Bud Stein, daughter Melissa Boyd and son in law Tommy Boyd, and daughter Michele Vannostran and son in law Greg Vannostran. Grandchildren Kori Stein, Zachary Stein, Jeremy Stein, Lucas Boyd, Brooke Vannostran and Payton Vannostran. Sister, Teresa Berg and brother in law Charlie Berg and brothers Harold Inman, Robert Inman and Larry Inman and sister in law Maxine Inman.

She was a devoted wife of 59 years to Gordon Baker and devoted Mother and Grandmother. She truly loved her family and was very dedicated and active in their lives.

She began her career in insurance at Southland Life in Amarillo, Texas when she was first married and later found her passion as a talented artist and teacher and was very well known in the Tole painting community. She also had a passion for the study of art and cooking and baking and was always working a crossword puzzle. She was also a generous supporter for numerous charities.

Charlene will be missed dearly and her grace, beauty and wisdom will live in our hearts forever.

Funeral arrangements will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on July 28th. The visitation will begin at 12:30 and graveside service at 1:30.
