Carolyn was born on April 13, 1924 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the oldest child of Zulu and Hoyle Hill. Carolyn and her siblings, James Hill and Marianne Hill Evanoff, grew up in the Heights area of Houston, Texas. Carolyn and her family were active members of Heights Christian Church where she learned about Jesus Christ. At church she met and made lifelong friends, including her future husband, Harold Clark.
After graduating from Reagan High School Carolyn went to work for the Houston Gas Company. After World War II, on November 18, 1945, Carolyn Hill married Sergeant Harold Clark at Heights Christian Church. Carolyn and Harold had 3 children: Judy, Becky and Craig.
In December 1961, Carolyn and her family moved to the Memorial area of Houston. Carolyn was very involved in her neighborhood, community, and church, Chapelwood Methodist Church. She volunteered weekly at Chapelwood Methodist Church and Spring Branch Community Hospital. She was a school room mother when her children were in elementary school. She was, also, a den mother for Cub Scouts. When her children were in high school, she was a bookkeeper for the Memorial Markette Booster Club.
Carolyn loved sports, whether it was bowling on a local team or watching high school or professional football and basketball. She especially loved baseball and was a lifelong fan of the Houston Astros.
Carolyn was preceded in death by Harold Clark, loving husband of 59 years; James Hill, brother; Nathan Nash Hubbard, grandson and MacKenzie Sinisi, great granddaughter. She is survived by her children, sister, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She will be forever loved and missed.
Carolyn will be buried next to her husband at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
