Carol Wayne Stubbs

He attended J. H. Jones High School, and joined the Navy in 1960. He was stationed in Oak Harbor, Washington during his time of service. While serving, he welcomed two children in 1962 and 1964. God began calling to him during this time, and after an honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Houston and joined South Park Baptist, in guidance by Pastor Overstreet. In 1969 he started Stubbs Associated Masonry, and served through that business through 2005. He welcomed another child in 1971, the same year they joined Rice Temple Baptist Church and was a devoted member until 2018. After his retirement in 2005, he earned 3 degrees. He moved to his final home in Grapeland, Texas in 2017 due to Hurricane Harvey, and spent his time there taking care of his father diligently through a dementia diagnosis. Carol lost his battle with cancer at age 82 on March 30, 2024.

He is preceded in death by Virginia N. Stubbs (mother) 1996, Jack E. Stubbs (father) 2023. He is survived by his wife, Allene Stubbs, his children: Michael & Lenora Stubbs of Grapeland, Michelle & Paul Knight of Grapeland, and Jack & Ruth Stubbs of Houston. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Carol will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A committal service will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
