Carol Laws Eichhorn

Carol Eichhorn passed away on September 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was born on November 14, 1936, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, to the late Edward Laws and Muriel White.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her devoted sons, Craig Eichhorn and Scott Eichhorn, and their caring wives. She was blessed with a large, loving family, including many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Carol also cherished her stepchildren: Brenda Colwell, Pamela Davis, Cliff Davis and the late Trent Davis. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Eugene Eichhorn and Ernest Walter Davis, as well as her brothers, Edward Farrell Laws and Phillip Ronald Laws.

After graduating from Elizabethton High School, Carol attended Louisiana College before embarking on a career as a paraprofessional with the United States Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. She later transitioned into a successful real estate career, working first in New Orleans and then in Houston, all while being a dedicated mother to her two boys. Carol was a Den Mother during her sons’ time in the Boy Scouts and remained deeply involved in their lives throughout all of the extracurricular activities.

Carol was not only a talented and creative individual, but also an active member of a Mardi Gras Krewe, where she showcased her artistic flair by designing and crafting her own stunning dresses and elaborate headpieces. She reveled in the grandeur and excitement of the New Orleans Mardi Gras balls, embracing the rich tradition and pageantry.

After retiring from a successful career in Houston real estate, Carol channeled her energy into her passion for bridge, becoming a devoted player and competing in tournaments across the greater Houston area. Alongside her second husband, Ernie, they became pillars of their community, proudly serving as block captains in their neighborhood. Carol’s adventurous spirit also fueled her love for travel, from cruising through the Caribbean to embarking on long road trips to destinations like Colorado and the East Coast.

Carol made friends wherever she went, always leaving a lasting impression with her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Carol will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
