In loving memory of Carmencita Oppus Malon Tiu, age 59, was called to God's side on March 3, 2016, after a brief but fierce struggle with dermatomyositis. Carmencita, or Carmen for short, was born on July 16, 1956 at Baclayon, Bohol to Mother, Vicente Oppus Malon, and
father, Ranulfo Malon.
Carmen was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother who lived her life with joy, exuberance, and an altruism that truly reflected her Catholic faith. Her empathy towards others and desire to serve was so all consuming that it guided her into the profession of nursing to which she proudly served. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Cebu Doctor's College of Nursing in 1978, and since then has treated each of her patients as if they were her own family.
Carmen, who loved and felt deeply for others, was always ready and willing to be whatever her loved ones needed her to be, whether it be a provider for her parents and siblings back home in the Philippines, a supportive and fiercely protective friend, an understanding and loving mother, and a devoted and faithful wife. She was the type of person who sat and cried with you in times of pain and sorrow, then after, laughed so buoyantly so as to bring you back into the light.
In August of 1984, Carmen married the love of her life, Donato Tiu Jr, and together lovingly raised their three children: Donna Tiu, Mark Tiu, and April Tiu. Carmen is survived by her sisters: Susan Lazaro and Marilyn Malon, and brothers: Fermino Malon, Filodelfo Malon, and Roland Malon. She has joined her parents and younger sister, Rosalina Timba, by God's side. Carmen also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Friends and Family are welcome to join us in saying, "We'll miss you. See you later, " on Thursday, March 10, and Friday, March 11, 2016.
