Carl Dennis Girod

Carl, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was born on the 11th of January 1956 and entered heaven on Tuesday, the 3rd day of December 2024, at the age of 68. Carl was an avid sportsman, loved Christmas, and a servant of the Lord. He grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Stephen F Austin High School. Carl and Deborah enjoyed a 51 year love story, and their marriage served as an example to his children. Carl was an incredible role model and devoted father to his two children, who loved him dearly.

During Carl's years with us he shaped and enriched the lives of the people around him. His contagious smile, smack talks and most of all his love for his family and the Lord made him adored by so many.

As much as Carl excelled at being a dad, he relished his role as a grandfather. Pawpaw was a constant presence at school and sporting events.

Carl is preceded in death by his late parents Raymond and Alice Girod, brother Doug Girod, cousin Jeff Girod and his Uncle Bill.

He is survived by his devoted wife Deborah Girod , and two loving children: Chris Girod and wife Candace; daughter Rebecca Phillips and her husband Ryan and his 7 grandchildren Brianna, Dylan, Alanna, Emily, Rylan, Olivia and Rory and his sister JoAnne Gearen.

A visitation for Carl will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at New Hope Church, 108 W Edgewood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
