He met Sydonia Cmajdalka and they married on June 13, 1948. Carl had a career in AC/Refrigeration. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and had a passion for music. Carl served in WWII as a surgical technician in the 739th tank battalion from 1943 to 1946.
He is preceded in death by loving wife Sydonia Lee Benton; sisters Louise Wignall, Verna Yanoushek, and Ruby Sanders; brother Johnny Benton.
He is survived by his sons Carl F. Benton III and wife Rose; Michael Benton and wife Susan and his daughter Sharon Benton; grandchildren Amy Dean and Justin, Kristah Slate and Dan, Ross Benton and Brandyce, Mandy Benton, Adam Benton and Erin, Debra Benton; great-grandchildren, Asher, Gideon, Naomi and Rebekah Dean, Camden, Everett, Anna Claire and Owen Slate, Brock Loper and Brook Benton, Riley and Ethne Benton and Marshall Matthews.
Serving as pallbearers Adam Benton, Daniel Slate, Ross Benton, Asher Dean, and Camden Slate.
A funeral service for Carl will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Following the funeral service will be a burial from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
