Calvin C. Trapp, age 92, of Montgomery, Texas went home to our Lord on July 13, 2023. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on October 23, 1930, the 1st son of Thomas C. Trapp and Nettie Louisa (White) Trapp.
He graduated from Aldine High School and received his diploma. While at Aldine High School, he met Shirley Ann Windham and married her on August 18, 1950. They have been married for 73 years.
Calvin had a career as a pipefitter, welder with Brown and Root, and traveled with his young family, to almost every state in America, laying pipelines, with other pipefitter families. Only to stop when his oldest daughter would be 11. He continued his welding trade with Dolan Mechanical, and HarCon Engineering. He was a Member with Pipefitters Local #211 for 70 years. Upon retirement from welding, he served his Waller community by becoming a school bus driver for Waller ISD. Here he was able to mentor many troubled kids and prayed for their futures.
He served for 63 years, since May 17, 1960, in the Masonic Lodge and was awarded many honors and was a 33rd degree Mason. He was a longtime member of the Waller Masonic Lodge #808 and was passionate for Masonic ideology of teaching service and leadership. Installed as Worshipful Master from June 23, 2000 until June 23, 2001. Served as Master of Ceremonies from 2012 to 2017. Living only a block from the Lodge in Waller, he took care of a lot of little things around his Lodge. He just saw something that needed to be fixed and fixed it. Calvin also started the Flag Fund Project. This enable him and his Lodge Brothers to place American Flags throughout the Waller Community on America’s special days. He cherished the Community Service and Leadership taught by his beliefs and instilled by his Masonic Brotherhood. He served at Mt Houston Masonic Lodge in the early 1960’s. And introduced his 2 oldest daughters to the Order of the Rainbow, for daughters of Masons. He also had a passion for coin collecting and spending his time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bert and his sister, Thelma, his grandson Christopher Maye and great grandson Stephen Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Trapp, married 73 years. Calvin was proud father to Donna Carol and (Don Hutchko), Candi Trapp and Dee Ann and (Kevin Vanderschaaf). His joy was his grandchildren Crystal and (Danny Parrott), Bridgett Stewart and (Jeremiah Drucker), Melinda and (Forrest Peavy), Matthew and (Autumn Roberts), Lauren and (Andrew Sharpe), Ian Osterhout and Breanna and (Andrew Lemons). He was most happy with his great grandchildren, Jacob, Kennedy, Karaline and Jaxon Parrott, John David and Reese Peavy, Kaylynn Maye, Kasey and Kelly Sargent, Zachary Sharpe, Sara Grace, Zachary and Colton Roberts and Tanner, Dylan, Rilynn and Maddie Stovall. He treasured his great great grandsons, Lexon, Forrest Jr and River. His brother Robert Trapp. Along with many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation to be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 9:00 am-10:00 am. Funeral and Burial will be 10:00 am at Brookside Memorial Park (13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039).
