Calvin Arthur Johnson was born on July 19, 1957, to the late Calvin Lawson of Clarksville, TX and Christine Shoup in Houston, TX. He was the fourth of five children; preceded in death by his brother Michael Johnson, and post-ceded in death by his sister Christy Johnson. Calvin graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas in 1976. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Calvin was employed with Denny’s Restaurant over a span of 20 years. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. Calvin leaves to cherish his mother, Christine (Shoup) Nathan; one sister, Deborah Edwards (Frederick) of Paris, TX; two brothers, William Johnson (Sylvia), Blewis Lawson, both of Houston, TX; four sons, Roderick Johnson (Laura), Kevin Washington, Caleb Johnson, Edwin Syrus, all of Houston, TX; three daughters, Rosalyn Johnson, Angela Jackson (Gary), Monique Provost (John), all of Houston, TX; two great grandchildren, fourteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
