On March 15, 1966 a baby girl was born unto Valena Johnson and Barron H. Johnson in Houston,TX. Bridgette was the youngest of 3 siblings. Bridgette accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized April 1972 at a young age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX under the leadership of Pastor F.D. Sampson Sr, where she was of great service for over 40 years giving back to the church.
Bridgette grew-up in Settegast where she attended Hillard Elementary, B.C Elmore Middle School and Forest Brooke High School where Bridgette was a star athlete (In the Jesse Owens Relays),she also attended Texas Women University College where she pursued a career in Nursing. Bridgette fell in love with and married Harold Batiste Sr. on May 28th 1998. Bridgette worked as a Nursing Assistant for 25 years until she retired.
Bridgette was preceded in death by her parents Barron and Valena Johnson, grandmother Annabelle Jones, sister Marie Johnson, nephew and brother in law Zeno& Darious Grimes. Bridgette hobbies were to go fishing/crabbing ,cooking, reading, dancing, and hanging with her family and friends playing cards and dominoes.
Bridgette leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband Harold Batiste Sr. 3 daughters,Valena Lenay Johnson-Jackson,(Larry Jackson), Lakisha Monique Jones(Brandon T. Jones) Neisha Jantral Johnson and 1 son Harold Batiste Jr.(ZuZu Batiste), 4 grandkids Aasia Nichole Limbrick, Brandon T. Jones Jr. Breonna Y. Thomas and Harold Batiste III. Bridgette also leaves behind 2 sisters Sherlyn Ann Johnson-Schumack, Charlotte Leanette Johnson-Grimes(Chris Andrus) 3 neices and nephews: Brandon Jones, Joshua Schumack and Joseph Schumack, Shandon Johnson, Caryn Schumack, and Christina Johnson and a host of very special family and friends.
