BRENT JACOB TAYLOR, 38, passed away June 30, 2011. Brent was born November 10, 1972 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended schools in Tulsa, Houston, Oklahoma City, and graduated from Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. A graduate of University of Texas with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Advertising, Brent was a 3rd-year medical student at UT Medical Branch – Galveston.
An outstanding student and high achiever all his life, Brent also was a talented soccer player from the early age of 5 through his senior year in high school. While living in Austin, Texas, Brent was the drummer for several bands, performed at the SXSW (South by Southwest) Music Festival and at local clubs in Austin.
Brent was the oldest grandchild and “leader of the pack” for his brother, cousins, and aunt at our many family gatherings. He was a devoted brother to his younger brother while they were growing up, never hesitating to let John tag along. And Brent also was beloved “Tio Brent” to John’s two children.
Brent is survived by his parents Clifton Taylor and Barbara Humphreys, his brother John Taylor and wife Claudia, niece Emma Taylor and nephew Miles Taylor. Brent is also survived by loving grandparents Donald and Helen Taylor, and Robert and Esther Sanborn, aunts Patty Taylor, Vicky Mallory, and Laurie Fine, and uncles Robert Taylor and Mark Sanborn, cousins Marsha Spencer and Allen Sanborn, lifelong friends Todd Edwards and Zahid Rahman, and all the dear relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
